Cyprus is to promote itself into becoming the golfing Mecca of the Mediterranean in the next years. Constructors and property developers are planning on developing high quality golf courses to attract connoisseurs of the sport.

At the moment 3 golf courses have been developed and running. All three courses are located in the district of Paphos. Another 14 golf courses are to be developed in the upcoming years. Tersefanou golf course is already been advertised and many overseas property buyers and investors have bought property in the area.

This move is for a long term change of tourism at to attract more affluent tourist market rather than wrong type of tourism like the youth.

Although there is a commitment for new golf courses, the property development will be control and unspoiled. Only a certain amount of development may occur near each golf course and only 17 golf courses have been given license to be developed in the upcoming years. This limited land space will benefit investors as prices will go up as supply decreases.
